Bishop's Decree restores the obligation to attend Mass effective August 15
Catholics in the Diocese of Dallas rejoice as the Sunday Mass dispensation is lifted
Catholics in the Diocese of Dallas will soon be obligated to once again attend Sunday Mass in person. In March of last year Bishop Edward Burns waived the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation for health and safety reasons during the COVID-19 pandemic.
After consulting with his brother priests, and in light of the greatly improved conditions throughout the state and nation, Bishop Burns informed the clergy that the dispensation will be lifted in the Diocese of Dallas on August, 15, 2021, the Feast of the Assumption.

La Dispensa de asistir a Misa en la Diócesis de Dallas será retirada
Los Católicos deben asistir a Misa de manera presencial a partir del 15 de agosto
Los Católicos en la Diócesis de Dallas pronto tendrán nuevamente la obligación de asistir a Misa de manera presencial. En marzo del año pasado el Obispo Edward Burns dispensó la obligación de asistir a Misa los domingos y otras fiestas de precepto por razones de salud y seguridad durante la pandemia del COVID-19.
Luego de consultar con sus hermanos sacerdotes, y en vista de que las condiciones en la Diócesis y en el país han mejorado considerablemente, el Obispo Burns informó al clero que la dispensa será retirada en la Diócesis de Dallas el 15 de agosto de 2021, día de la festividad de la Asunción.

Our seminarian Cesar Garcia’s last day will be July 30th – he will be leaving to return to school. Please join us on Friday, July 30th for a come and go farewell from 10:30AM (after Adoration) until 12:00PM in the Dining Room. We continue to keep Cesar in our prayers in his journey and formation to the priesthood!

Devyn Buschow, Youth and Young Adult Ministry Director at Holy Spirit parish for the past 9 years, has announced that she will be leaving her position effective July 31, 2021. Devyn's dedication, energy, and love for the families of this parish have been such a blessing these many years, and as she moves on to new opportunities we know that she will continue to change lives by sharing the love of Christ.
Because of Devyn's departure, Holy Spirit is seeking a qualified individual to be our next Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. S/he must possess a strong knowledge of our Roman Catholic faith and be a faithful and practicing Catholic who loves interacting with young people.
